Ralph Eggleston was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on October 18, 1956. He attended Sam Houston High School in the same region and began his animation career at Kroyer Films, owned by Bill Kroyer. He began working on projects such as the 1990 television pilot Computer Warriors and the 1992 film FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992). During the development of the first computer-animated picture, Toy Story, Pixar hired Eggleston in 1992. 1995’s Toy Story, for which Eggleston served as art director, was a tremendous box office triumph. His work also earned him his first Annie Award.
Ralph Eggleston was dubbed “Eggman” at Pixar as the firm produced blockbuster after blockbuster.
