One of Hilaree Nelson’s sponsors, The North Face Company, announced on Monday that they were in contact with her family and assisting search and rescue efforts. In addition, the business noted that Nelson’s partner is an accomplished mountaineer who skis frequently. She was exploring the Nepalese Himalayas with Jim Morrison when she vanished.

According to Jiban Ghimire, managing director of Shangri-La Nepal Trek, his Base Camp staff received a call on Monday. According to the call, Nelson’s ski blade detached and she slid over the opposite side of the mountain peak.

Recently, Nelson documented her journey on Instagram using text and images. She emphasized the challenging weather conditions climbers encountered on previous days as well as the lack of stability she faced when climbing Manaslu.

Morrison stated in a recent Instagram post that the previous weeks “tested my resiliency in new ways.” In addition, she stated on her website, “These past weeks have tested me to my limits.”
