After months of conjecture and back-and-forth between the band and the South Korean authorities, this news has now been confirmed. According to the official announcement, the eldest member of BTS, Jin, would be the first to enlist, while the other members will join when asked.

The label went on to say that it has focused on the momentous occasion and that now is the time for young members to respect the demands of the country and serve their fellow citizens. According to the report, Jin will initiate the procedure once he completes his solo release at the end of October. The label stated that Jin, age 29, will comply with the Korean government’s conscription requirements.
“Big Hit Music has concentrated on the moment when it would be feasible to respect the country’s requirements and allow these healthy young men to serve alongside their fellow citizens, and that moment is now. As soon as his solo release schedule concludes at the end of October, group member Jin will commence the process. Then, he will follow the government of Korea’s enlisting procedure, according to the notification.
According to the official release, other members will serve military duty according to their respective arrangements. It was stated that both the label and the band are looking forward to reuniting in 2025 following the completion of their military obligation.
